Rockin’ the Primary Years explores lessons and activities that start in kindergarten and grow with your students through the elementary years. We share resources and techniques for teachers to help their students build a rockin’ foundation for Modern Band.

From song writing with “Banana Splits “ for lower elementary students, to putting together a band for upper elementary students, this session allows teachers to experience and experiment with methods they can use in their classrooms and clubs. We explore age appropriate, obtainable goals that will prepare students for middle school and high school Modern Band.

We include new and fun ideas that help teach improvisation, composition, vocals, music theory, instrumental, and playing popular songs. We rock up traditional nursery rhymes and children’s favorites as well. This workshop has teachers doing, creating, and having fun!
