Watch Session Recording

Participants in this workshop will learn both simple and challenging choreography they can reteach to their students to enhance performances and stage presence. During the session, you’ll learn fun choreography to move your students beyond the basics of stepping side to side and pumping their fists in the air. We will cover movement for the singers (including using the mic stands), the guitars, and even the keyboards and drums. This workshop is applicable to teachers of both classroom ensembles and after school ensembles. Tips on how to teach choreography and how to foster student choreographers will be covered as well. Finally, this presentation will cover ways to encourage students to self-evaluate and improve their stage presence. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have some basic choreography in 4/4 meter that can be used for most of your students’ songs. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and come prepared to move!
