Classroom workshopping is a whole class approach to large group music-making, composing and improvising. Grounded in non-formal teaching pedagogies, musical ideas and development originate from within the group with the teacher as musical leader helping to shape and develop the music as it evolves. Classroom workshopping scaffolds kids through from instrumental skills-building to writing their own music by increasing confidence to try out ideas and create an ethos where it's OK if it doesn't sound perfect straight away.
