Participants will 'Just Play' during this practical music making session.
Just Play is a skills building approach designed to engage all teachers in making music with their classes. The resources and approach is designed to allow all teachers who have a little or a lot of musical expertise to teach their classes using a hands on approach to enable children to develop their musical skills.
This practical music making approach, that has been developed by Musical Futures, is aimed at students aged between 8-14 and involve some practical music making as a whole class on a variety of different instruments, using music that pupils recognise and engage with.
During this session, participants will get a taster of how this approach allows students to develop different instrumental skills such as; reading different musical notations, improving rhythm and timing, building confidence as a performer and musician, technique on a range of different instruments, working as part of a large ensemble, improving listening skills and most of all, how fun Just Play is!
